Happy 5th Birthday, Brykn

Holy crap! I can't believe my little Brykn is getting so big! 5 years old, already--where did the time go? This year for his birthday, he wanted something a little different....he wanted sheep! It all began when our neighbor got some sheep that Brykn could rope. Yup, I said rope. And rope he did--for hours, and hours, and hours. He chased those sheep for miles around that pasture. But, then, the sheep got sold. So, a lonely Brykn begged for sheep for his birthday. And, sheep he got! We had a fun pirate party complete with a treasure hunt and all, but the real highlight of the big day was when he saw the sheep in the horse trailer. His smile was so big and he just squealed with delight! Happy Birthday, Brykn. I love you more than anything in the whole world!

Surprise Winner

In her new role as Trauma Coordinator, my mom has worked diligently to ensure that Mountain View Hospital receives it's trauma designation. Part of the requirements for trauma designation includes outreach education. So, she has been working with the local EMS agencies to provide them with needed education that helps create the best possible outcome for trauma patients treated at Mountain View Hopsital. As a result of all this education, the EMS folks have been extremely grateful. Well, her friend, Andie, called and asked if I'd help her nominate my mom for the Utah "Friends of EMS Award." Of course I helped! And, great news--she won! The funny thing is that we needed to get her to St. George for the banquet without telling her why we were going. Eeeek! So, Andie and I came up with the idea of asking her to present at the conference. We were both so excited and thought it was a sure fire way to get her to there. Boy were we wrong!!! She thought that presenting at the conference was the stupidest idea she'd ever heard! Well, after weeks of talking and convincing, we finally got her to agree--very reluctantly, but agree nontheless. She had her presentation put to powerpoint and all ready to go! These photos are from the event. Surprise, Mom! You're a winner in all our eyes!

Lil' Slugger!

That's right, I have my very own Babe Ruth! Okay, well, maybe a Babe Ruth in the making.

Brykn started t-ball this year and it has been so much fun to watch. He swings and swings and when he connects, well, look out!

Great job, Brykn! You hit hard, run fast, and make me so proud!

So Grateful...

I am so grateful to have such wonderful, and sometimes mischievious, little kiddos. The two best thing that every happened to me are my children...okay, three best things...their dad's pretty good too!

This Mother's Day the kids made me a pillowcase with their photos on it at Jamie's house. So special! Brykn also bought me a hanging basket and the whole crew gave me $$$ for new cowboy boots!

Thank you, Brykn, Harlee, and Brandon. I am so lucky that you love me!

Blue Belt

That's right, Brykn's now a blue belt! Another belt test, another belt, more pictures!

"Brykn"

One of the best things about being a parent is watching your kids grow together. When Harlee started saying Brykn's name, it made my whole heart smile. So cute!

Rimmy

We were so lucky to inherit Rimmy, a 34-year-old horse for Brykn. Tate learned to ride on Rimmy and he needed someone new to teach. So, Tate brought Rimmy to our house to stay. Brykn had no idea Rimmy was coming to our house, so it was a total surprise! So fun! Thank's Tate--we L-O-V-E, LOVE, Rimmy!

Hoppy Easter!

This year was Harlee's first Easter Egg Hunt. And, well, she did the same thing Brykn did when he was her age--picked up one egg and called it a day! No need for more--one treat is plenty. Brykn, on the other hand, was a mad man. He ran from egg to egg and treat to treat having an absolute ball!

Easter Day was fun too--the kids both loved their Easter Bunny goods. Fun times!
