Ike the Goat

Brykn has a new best friend. He is a baby billy pygmy goat named "Ike." We bought Ike for Brykn (I paid $75 for a goat!) because he absolutely loves four-legged, hairy things. And, while he really loves the horses, the goat can't buck him off and Brykn can play with Ike by himself. When we picked Ike up from the previous owner, Brykn was so excited that Ike was going for a ride in our truck. Ike, on the other hand, wasn't as thrilled about the ride. He just kept a bellering! Which, Brykn thought was Ike's way of saying he was happy to be going to our house. Brykn kepting saying, "Hear a goat! Hear a goat!" The little, excited look on his face was priceless.

We have been feeding Ike carrotts and that seems to be Brykn's favorite part of the day. In fact, the first few days we had Ike at our house, the first thing Brykn would say when he woke up was, "Feed a goat to the barn, kay?" And, out to the barn we would tromp. Once there, it was time for Ike's daily hug--which, Ike really isn't all that fond of either, but he does tolerate it pretty well. Here's to happy days with a goat named Ike!
